BEFORE ENROLLMENT
What is the Zawouni Program?

Zawouni is a structured online diploma program that offers both foundational and advanced knowledge in zakat and waqf management. It combines self-paced learning with live Zoom sessions led by experts from various countries. The program is organized by the World Zakat and Waqf Forum (WZWF) and BAZNAS RI, with support from Institut Tazkia.

What study tracks are available?

There are two diploma levels:

  • Professional Diploma of Zakat Management
  • Professional Diploma of Waqf Management

In the Basic Class, both topics are taught together in an integrated curriculum. In the Advanced Class, they are offered separately with deeper specialization.

Who can apply for the Basic Class?

Minimum requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in any field
  • At least 1 year of experience (work/research) in zakat or waqf
  • Basic understanding of Islamic principles and values
  • English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Stable internet and access to a computer or mobile device
  • Familiarity with online learning tools
  • Commitment to attend classes and complete assignments
Who can apply for the Advanced Class?

Minimum requirements:

  • Successful completion of the Basic Class, proven by a valid certificate issued by the program
  • A recognized Bachelor’s degree in any field
  • At least 1 year of experience (work or research) in zakat or waqf
  • Basic understanding of Islamic principles and values
  • English proficiency (reading, writing, speaking)
  • Access to a computer or mobile device with a stable internet connection
  • Familiarity with online learning platforms
  • Strong commitment to attend live classes and complete all coursework
Who are the instructors?

The program is taught by an international faculty of scholars and practitioners who are experts in zakat, waqf, and Islamic social finance. These include lecturers from Indonesia, ASEAN countries, the Middle East, Europe, and the US.

Is the program free?
  • The Basic Class is completely free, including full access to materials and certificate (upon passing the final exam).
  • The Advanced Class requires tuition for those wishing to receive certification. Participants may still access learning materials without paying, but will only be awarded a certificate upon completion of requirements and payment.
How often is the Zawouni program offered?

The Zawouni Program is typically offered once a year.

How do I register?

  3. Select your Google account and complete the login.

When is the registration deadline and when do classes start?

Are there any scholarships or financial aid options available for the Advanced Class tuition?

Currently, there is no specific information available regarding scholarships or financial aid for the Advanced Class tuition. Any updates on this will be announced on our official channels.

DURING THE PROGRAM
How is the program conducted?
  • Classes are held fully online via Zoom and the E-Learning (Moodle LMS platform)
  • Zoom links will be shared in the official class group
  • All learning materials and recorded sessions are available on the e-learning platform
How do I record my self-attendance on Moodle?

To record your self-attendance on the Moodle LMS platform, please navigate to the designated attendance activity for each session. You will find an option to mark your presence there. Ensure you record your attendance within the specified timeframe for each class.

How do I complete the quizzes?

Quizzes are typically conducted immediately after the live Zoom sessions and are accessible on the Moodle LMS platform. Look for the designated quiz activity for each session. Ensure you complete it within the allotted 15-30 minutes timeframe.

What is the expected weekly time commitment for this program?

Each week, there is a live Zoom meeting of approximately 2 hours, followed by a quiz session of about 15-30 minutes.

Are there any specific software or application requirements for the program, apart from Zoom and the Moodle LMS platform?

Participants will primarily use WhatsApp for communication, Zoom for live sessions, and the Moodle LMS platform for all learning materials and activities. No other specific software is generally required.

What kind of academic or technical support is available for participants during the program?

For technical issues or general inquiries regarding the application, support is available via email and WhatsApp. Questions directly to lecturers are handled during the live Zoom sessions.

What is the class schedule and duration?
  • The course includes 16 sessions, including the final exam
  • Classes are held once a week, every Thursday at 2:00 PM (Jakarta Time)
What is the attendance policy?
  • Participants may miss a maximum of 3 sessions
  • Absences must be supported by valid or syar’i reasons
  • Attendance must be self-recorded on the Moodle LMS platform
Do I need to be fluent in English?

Fluency is not required to register, but since the program is entirely conducted in English, your understanding and engagement will depend on your English proficiency.

What should I do if I cannot access the course website?

If you're having trouble accessing https://zawouni.wzwf.org:

  • Clear your browser cache and cookies
  • Try a different browser (e.g., Chrome, Firefox)
  • Restart your Wi-Fi router
  • Use mobile data instead of Wi-Fi
AFTER FINAL EXAMINATION
Will I receive a certificate?

Basic Class: Participants who pass the final exam with a minimum score of 70 will receive an official Professional Diploma Certificate.

When will certificates be issued?

Certificates will be issued within 14 working days after the final exam.

I joined and graduated last year. Should I register again?

No need to register again for the Basic Class. If you have already received your Basic Class certificate, you are eligible to proceed directly to the Advanced Class, which is expected to open in the coming months, in shaa Allah.
